- Experience: What is your current administrative position? How long have you served in that capacity? What was your path to obtain it?
This is my third full year at LMS as Principal. In 2003, I began my career as Special Education English teacher in the Mississippi Delta. I returned to Michigan in 2005, earning as position in Williamston working as permanent sub in Spanish, Home Economics, & eventually World Cultures Cooking. In 2006, I became a classroom teacher which spanned 10 years in Williamston, teaching a variety of courses, primarily at the high school and AP level in Social Studies. I became a Dean of Students at Williamston Middle in 2013. I became the Principal at IHM Parish School in Lansing in 2019. Leslie Public Schools hired me as it’s Middle School Principal in the winter of 2021.

As the MASSP Region 6 Representative, I understand the needs of building principals & the value of leadership. My experience prepares me to serve the region well. I commit to active listening, advocating for Region 6 members, ensuring their voices resonate to all educational partners. I prioritize clear, timely communication, keeping leaders informed of legislative changes, policy updates, and best practices. I will strive to be a supportive resource, offering guidance for navigating complex school leadership challenges. I recognize the imperative for innovation and forward-thinking strategies, and I am eager to contribute to initiatives that empower our schools and most importantly our students. I am enthusiastic about the prospect of collaborating with other leaders.
