MASSP and MEMSPA are collaboratively hosting a webinar for building principals to learn more about the recent Michigan Court of Appeals ruling that may impact the MPSERS pension benefits of building level leaders. This webinar will be led by Robert Schindler from Miller Johnson, who is the lead attorney on The Michigan Association of Superintendents and Administrators (MASA) lawsuit filed with the Court of Claims (Batista v. ORS).
During the webinar Attorney Schindler will:
- Provide an overview of how this litigation began and the course of action it has taken through the court system.
- Bring awareness of the current status of the lawsuit and how it could impact building leaders.
- Discuss the potential ways this situation may be resolved though the courts and/or the legislature.
- Answer questions from webinar attendees and create an FAQ based on these questions and answers.
This webinar does not qualify for SCECHs. The webinar will be recorded and the recording will be made available on both the MASSP and MEMSPA websites. For more background information on the Batista v. ORS lawsuit revisit the communication shared with the MASSP membership on November 29, 2023.
Who Should Attend
