In the midst of an ever changing educational environment it is clear that we must implement not only what works best for face-to-face learners, but those who elect to learn remotely. We need to sift through the noise and design a new normal based on the promising practices in face-to-face, remote, blended and hybrid models to ensure rigorous and relevant learning is accelerated, personalized, and accessible.
Think Tank is not a series of implementation steps to cross off on a list, but a way of thinking about how educators can ensure each child receives the time and support needed to achieve success. This virtual series is designed for school leaders and teams who have started thinking about the future of educational services, but are still refining processes or experiencing challenges. The facilitators will support participants in designing a new normal that is efficient, effective, and equitable.
Despite concerted efforts, student achievement gaps in and disenfranchisement with schools have been magnified by the pandemic. Join MASSP’s Colin Ripmaster, Steve Seward and Wendy Zdeb for a live 5 part series to take a deep dive into topics focused on modernizing our schools.
During these interactive virtual workshops, you'll explore ideas to close learning gaps and come away with a plan of action to unlock the potential of every learner and educator.
- What are the needs of learners, students and adults, in a post-pandemic world?
- How do you recognize, plan and manage for different approaches to learning and instruction?
- How can we design academies, programs, a calendar and master schedule to meet student needs?
- What non-academic programs, services and skills do learners need to succeed within and beyond school?
These sessions will not be “sit and get” if you register for the series be prepared to roll your sleeves up, find a space where you can engage uninterrupted and participate fully. The time you dedicate to this work now will save you countless hours in the future- as is always true, the room is smarter than any one individual. Save the following dates on your calendar, concepts will build so it is important to block these days and plan to attend each session live. We will not be recording as the interaction is as important as the information being shared.

What Are People Saying?
“The pandemic has provided no shortage of challenges for us as educational leaders. From lunch tables to prom, from textbooks to Chromebooks, and more, we have had to rethink nearly everything we’ve done. When people talk about returning to “normal”, principals respond with, “which one?” There is a very knee jerk reaction from the deepest parts of our limbic brain to push back toward that “normal” that has taken form in our own schema. Think Tank is here to encourage you to fight that desire and push back against that ancient part of our brain toward something better!
~ Tom Lietz, Utica High School Principal
