Has esports piqued your interest? Want to start a program at your school but know nothing about it?! Don’t worry, we have you covered. You can have little to no knowledge about esports and still start a successful, dynamic program for students in your building. Need more proof? Hear from a principal, coach and student perspective!

This Fall 2021 Season MASSP and MASC/MAHS, partnering with PlayVS, are excited to offer our second year of the Michigan High School Esports League: Champions Series (MHSEL)! MHSEL’s mission/vision is to provide safe, competitive and curricular environments for Michigan High School students to compete against schools across the state.  The MHSEL provides students the opportunity to build critical skill sets, explore vast career opportunities, and contribute to their school’s culture as a varsity athlete. Last year the number of teams competing around the state doubled between the Fall and Spring season in our inaugural year!

Why esports?

Esports opens up a world of opportunities for students. Whether their interests are competition, social media, shoutcasting, production, design, analytics, or just spending time with friends — high school esports provides students with a sense of connection to their school while exploring curricular and career development. It’s also one of the only coed varsity sports a school can offer! No matter the results, when students compete, school culture wins!

Why PlayVS?

PlayVS is the official high school esports partner of the NFHS Network. This means there is only one place where varsity high school esports is played — PlayVS. PlayVS makes it easy for players and coaches to get started - regardless of skill level. PlayVS offers the most popular titles including: League of Legends, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Splatoon 2, FIFA 21, Madden 21 and more.
