Self-Paced, Instructor-Led & Hybrid Courses

Most courses in the DLN fall into two categories: Self-Paced and Instructor Led.  Each has its own benefits depending on your learning style.

Self-Paced
Upon registration, learners will have 30 days to complete a course.

Most courses offer SCECHs upon successful completion.  This process is automatically handled through Michigan Virtual once a course is completed and learners will be notified via email when SCECHs are ready for review.

Many of the self-paced courses feature “sit & get” information. However, various learning activities will require participants to respond and/or submit answers to demonstrate their learning.

Although computer grading is performed on certain tasks, a MASSP staff member verifies that all tasks are completed to a satisfactory level before grading or finalizing a learner’s progress.

Self-paced courses cannot be “dropped” and therefore are non-refundable.

Organization is critical to the success of self-paced learners.  It is suggested that participants make a list of all activities being asked to be completed in each module to ensure all tasks are finished.

Instructor-Led
Most courses offer SCECHs upon successful completion.  This process is automatically handled through Michigan Virtual once a course is completed and learners will be notified via email when they are ready for review.

All online, instructor-led courses must have a minimum of 10 enrolled learners in a course.  Courses with fewer than 10 participants will not run and will be rescheduled for different dates if this happens.

Participants can drop a course up to 24 hours of the start date for a 100% refund.  After that point, no refunds are allowed. Participants can have their registration moved to another course instead.

Hybrid
These courses allow participants to register and begin the course at anytime, place or pace.  As learners progress through the course content, they will be required to submit assignments which course facilitators will evaluate and then provide feedback.

Upon registration, learners will have 60 days to complete a course.

HYBRID courses cannot be “dropped” and therefore are non-refundable.
