The Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) and Michigan Association of Student Councils and Honor Societies (MASC/MAHS) are excited to announce that applications for the 2022 Principal of the Year (POY) and 2023 Assistant Principal of the Year (APOY) are now open!

Michigan's Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year are innovative servant-leaders, who show integrity, implement instructional leadership, are good communicators, support staff and students and much more. These awards recognize the incredible work Principals and Assistant Principals do to progress student activity groups, school leaders and their building culture.

The POY and APOY are selected by the MASC/MAHS Student Board of Delegates and the MASSP Board of Directors. Before accessing the submission form, use the below links to see the items and information needed to submit your application.

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE: FEBRUARY 10, 2022 BY 5:00 P.M.

The 2022 Principal of the Year will be announced in Spring of 2022 and recognized with the current 2022 Assistant Principal of the Year (Al Reickard, North Rockford Middle School) at EdCon22.

The 2023 Assistant Principal of the Year will be announced in Fall of 2022 and recognized at EdCon23 with the concurrent Principal of the Year.
