Meet Your Incoming Board Representatives

Polls closed on Friday, April 12, at 3:00 p.m. for MASSP's Board of Directors 2024 Election. This year's group of candidates are all exceptional administrators and we want to thank each and every one for taking the initiative to run for a position. We appreciate the support and engagement of all members who took the time to vote for their representatives. Congratulations and welcome to new and returning Board members elected by the membership to serve. We anticipate that their skills and experiences will be a valuable contribution to our BOD and the Association. Terms of office officially begin July 1, 2024 and end June 30, 2027.

Amy Pashak will be the next member to join our Executive Board as MASSP's new President-Elect.

"I am humbled and honored to be elected by my colleagues throughout the state. I am excited to serve and help grow the association by supporting secondary school administrators," she said. "The main reason I wanted to run in the election, and my goal now being elected, is to be an advocate and support for one of the most multi-faceted and rewarding careers out there, secondary school administrators. I look forward to an amazing three years serving the Association and our members."

AmyP-HeadshotAmy Pashak served on the MASSP Board of Directors as the Assistant Principal Central Representative when she was employed at Howell High School. Amy has grown as a secondary building administrator since her time on the Board and advanced in her career to now being the Principal at Fowlerville High School. Amy brings more than 25 years of experience in education to the Board, recently obtained her Education Specialist Degree and maintains being current in law, best practices and innovative thinking including service on the Livingston County AI Taskforce. She has the experience, passion and commitment to serve the association with integrity and dedication.

While we welcome new Board members, we also say goodbye to three incredible leaders:

  • Middle Level Eastern: Amy Hendry, Principal at Carter Middle School, Warren (4 Years)
  • NASSP Coordinator: Tracy Wilson, Principal at Grand Haven High School (12 Years)
  • At-Large: Heyam Alcodray, Principal at Fordson High School (4 Years)

Board service is a significant commitment and these three individuals fulfilled their duties with dedication, grace and tenacity. MASSP would like to sincerely thank Amy, Tracy and Heyam for their combined 20 years of service on the MASSP BOD. Our achievements as an Association would not be possible without great Board members at the helm.

Amy Hendry served just over one term as the Middle Level Eastern Representative and is leaving the Board as she will be retiring within the next year. Tracy Wilson, a long standing Board member, has served four terms; two as the NASSP Coordinator, one as the Region 3 Representative and another term on the Executive Board. Heyam Alcodray completed just over one term on the MASSP Board in the At-Large seat representing under-represented members of the association. We will certainly miss working with these inspiring leaders as Board members and thank them for their contributions and service.

Thank you to all the MASSP members statewide who read up on the candidates and selected colleagues for office who best represent the profession. It serves the membership well to have the best of the best from each Region represented.
