As we move further into the school year, it’s important to reflect on the dedication and leadership that principals across Michigan demonstrate every day. The role of a principal goes beyond managing a building; it’s about creating a positive environment where students, staff, and the community can thrive. As your NASSP State Coordinator, I want to highlight the incredible work being done in our schools and the vital importance of connection among school leaders.
The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) continues to be a powerful voice for principals at the national level, ensuring that our needs and challenges are heard and addressed. One of the most valuable resources NASSP offers is its Leadership Networks. These networks provide a unique space for principals and assistant principals to come together to share their experiences, challenges, and successes, all while expanding their professional networks.
Whether you’re a new principal navigating your first few years or a seasoned leader in a rural or urban setting, NASSP has a network tailored to your specific needs. Some of the available networks include:

These Leadership Networks offer a supportive, collaborative environment where school leaders from across the country can connect, learn, and grow together.

In addition to these networks and resources, NASSP remains committed to advocating for principals on key issues that affect our schools and communities. NASSP will continue to advocate for our FY 2025 funding priorities in the coming months as Congress works to reach a compromise. Ensuring that principals have the support and resources needed to lead successful schools is at the heart of NASSP’s mission.
