Michigan’s PA 146 has accelerated the conversation around Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports, placing renewed attention on how middle and high schools identify and support students who need additional help. Yet for many secondary leaders, one question remains: What does high-quality MTSS actually look like in a middle or high school?
Research continues to point to the same conclusion. Strong MTSS systems begin with strong Tier 1 instruction, but many secondary schools still struggle to do this work or are trying to adapt elementary-inspired models that are not designed for the realities of secondary teaching and learning.
Catalyst 2026 was designed for this moment.
Rather than focusing primarily on interventions, this one-day experience helps school leadership teams rethink MTSS from the classroom outward. Through immersive learning, collaborative design studios, practitioner-led breakout sessions, and interactive planning, participants will explore how disciplinary literacy, evidence-informed instruction, and thoughtfully integrated AI can strengthen Tier 1 learning while building smarter systems of support for every student.
This is not a conference about adding another initiative. It is about helping principals and leadership teams rethink the instructional core, identify where students are getting stuck, and leave with practical strategies and an actionable plan they can begin implementing immediately.
