The Digital Learning Network (DLN) at MASSP is entering an exciting new phase focused on making professional learning more clear and connected for educators across Michigan.
Over the past several months, we have been reviewing the entire DLN course catalog to make sure courses stay relevant, practical and aligned to the changing needs of educators. As part of that work, we are updating current courses, removing outdated content and building new learning experiences connected to emerging topics and priorities.
Moving forward, DLN courses will be organized into five updated learning categories designed to help educators more easily find learning experiences connected to their interests and professional goals:
• Leading Learning
• Building Culture
• Systems, Policy & Continuous Improvement
• Student-Centered Pathways
• Innovation & Emerging Practices
These updated categories will help create a more connected and intentional learning experience while continuing to provide flexible, high-quality online professional learning opportunities for teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff.
One of the biggest changes coming to the DLN is the development of connected learning pathways. Instead of courses feeling isolated from one another, educators will be able to move through curated learning experiences that build over time within a specific focus area. The goal is to help participants deepen their understanding, apply new learning in authentic ways, and continue growing professionally.
As educators progress through these pathways, they will also have opportunities to earn digital badges that recognize specific skills, competencies, and areas of growth. Over time, those badges will stack together into larger micro-credentials that reflect meaningful learning and demonstrated application in practice.
Many of these updates will continue rolling out throughout the coming year, but the overall mission remains the same: providing relevant, flexible, and impactful professional learning experiences that support educators and help schools continue to innovate and grow.
The DLN will remain accessible while these updates are being made. If you need last-minute SCECHs before the annual certificate renewal deadline on June 30, the DLN is a convenient solution. You can access courses anytime here.
We are excited about where the DLN is headed and look forward to continuing to build learning experiences that meet the needs of Michigan educators today and into the future.
Note: AI tools were used in the drafting process to support organization and clarity. This reflects the same responsible use of AI we encourage in our schools: using it to enhance, not replace, our thinking.
