Nina Davis joins MASSP as the new Associate Director of Member Services and Engagement. Nina comes to the organization with over 17+ years of education experience in urban and suburban districts. Born and raised in Flint, MI, Nina attended schools in a smaller district outside of Flint for most of her K-12 schooling. It is through this experience that she credits her ability to navigate and successfully interact with educators and students in varied settings. Nina started her career in Livonia Schools for a year teaching middle school, she then landed in Ypsilanti Public Schools where she taught for 6 years. At Ypsilanti High School, Nina taught Health and English, served as chair over both the English department and the School Improvement Team while also creating the first Advanced Placement Literature course in the district. Nina also taught for a period of time at Alief - Hastings High School in Houston, Texas. Nina returned to the state of Michigan to serve as an assistant principal back at Ypsilanti before finding her way to L’Anse Creuse Public Schools where she would go on to serve as an associate principal before becoming principal of L’Anse Creuse Middle School East. Nina comes to MASSP after a 9 year tenure of being a middle school principal. Nina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Health from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership also from Eastern Michigan University.
