After teaching for more than 25 years at Novi High School, Lydia joined MASSP in February 2022. Over those years she instructed students in a variety of social studies and journalism courses, advised two award-winning publications programs, coached theatre students in publicity, mentored new teachers, and sponsored class councils. A graduate of St. Charles Community High, Lydia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication at the University of Michigan, where she met her husband. She later completed her Master of Arts in Journalism at Michigan State University, where her son now attends college, and where she spent a week each summer for more than 15 years as an instructor at the MIPA summer workshop.

When she’s not behind a computer or camera, Lydia can be found gardening, traveling with her husband, trying new restaurants with her son, or cooking and baking for others. She loves watching Oscar nominated films with friends and catching up on great TV with her family.
