The Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) is excited to continue the Innovative Leaders Network (ILN) for the 2026–27 school year with Year 2: Lead & Transform.
ILN is designed as a multi-year learning network for secondary school leaders who are ready to reimagine school in an AI-integrated, student-centered, and future-ready landscape. Year 1 focused on exploration, exposure, reflection, and possibility. Year 2 shifts from “What’s possible?” to “What might we begin to design, test, and learn from in our own context?”
Year 2 offers returning ILN participants the opportunity to deepen their learning through direct application, coaching, peer collaboration, and an Innovation Change Project. Participants will identify a local area of focus aligned to one of the ILN innovation domains and begin testing ideas in ways that are thoughtful, manageable, and connected to the needs of their school community.
Participants will:
- Design and lead an Innovation Change Project connected to one of the three ILN innovation domains:
- Innovative Structures and Approaches for Personalizing Learning
- Innovative Instructional Models and Supports for Student Success
- Innovative Tools and Technologies to Improve Outcomes
- Receive dedicated coaching to refine their project focus, navigate barriers, support implementation, and sustain momentum throughout the year.
- Participate in virtual Design Studios and Sandbox sessions focused on peer feedback, problem-solving, tool exploration, and collaborative planning.
- Engage in a statewide learning network with other school leaders who are working to move from ideas to action.
- Reflect on progress, capture lessons learned, and create a project artifact or short presentation to share their story.
- Participate in a final ILN Showcase experience connected to EdCon27, where participants will share learning, celebrate progress, and help inspire future ILN cohorts.
This experience is designed to help leaders take thoughtful risks, build change momentum, and model future-ready practices within their own systems. Year 2 is not about having everything figured out. It is about identifying a meaningful opportunity, testing ideas with intention, learning alongside others, and building the leadership capacity to move innovation forward.

MASSP Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made ten (10) business days or more in advance of the training date, will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made after this date, including no-shows, are nonrefundable. Registration fees may be transferred to another individual by contacting the MASSP office at (517) 327-5315.
In the event that MASSP must cancel a training due to unforeseen circumstances, including inclement weather, participants will be refunded the cost of registration or may credit the fee toward an upcoming training. MASSP does not assume responsibility for any additional costs, charges or expenses; to include, charges made for travel and lodging.
