Youth nicotine use continues to evolve, presenting new challenges for Michigan schools as vaping and e-cigarettes reshape how students access and use tobacco products. Join MASSP and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) for an informative webinar exploring the latest youth tobacco trends, including data from the Michigan Youth Tobacco Survey and Youth Risk Behavior Survey. Participants will gain insight into emerging products, flavored tobacco, patterns of use, and the impact nicotine addiction can have on student behavior, attendance, and classroom engagement. Beyond understanding the trends, this session will highlight practical prevention strategies, tobacco-free school policies, and supportive alternatives to traditional disciplinary approaches. School leaders will walk away with resources and actionable ideas to better support students, engage families, and create healthier school environments.
