The Mason County Central High School esports team is in the middle of their rookie year being co-coached by Tim Danielson and Marissa Rodriguez. MCC esports competes in the Michigan High School Esports League that utilizes the PlayVS platform. Their first season being this past Fall 2024 and they are currently competing in the Spring 2025 season, fielding a varsity Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and varsity Super Smash Brothers Ultimate teams.
MCC esports was just recently received a global sponsor, Anda Seat. Anda Seat is the largest esports and gaming furniture retailer in Europe and the 3rd largest esports and gaming furniture retailer in Asian markets. Anda Seat is an active player in the world of esports, who has sponsored 40+ teams on 2000+ gaming events.
Anda Seat has already made a $10,000 investment in the future of MCC esports! Their goal is “to not just provide equipment, but to be a meaningful partner in (MCC esports) journey to build a sustainable and successful esports program.” Anda Seat went on to say that they “look forward to supporting Mason County Central High School’s esports program and being part of the student’s journey towards excellence.”
Some of the furniture has already arrived and the esports game room is being redesigned!
