As a Capturing Kids Hearts school, we start each meeting with “Good Things” so that people can share their wins, whether in school, home, family, etc. Builds a great sense of community, and allows us to celebrate each other.

I do a daily check-in with teachers every morning before students arrive to see if I can be of any assistance.
Popping in classrooms just to ask teachers, “Is there anything you need? How can I help you?”
A “Pets of Hillside” slide that plays on our hallway displays. Staff members share pictures of their pets, names, nicknames, likes/dislikes, etc.
“Snackle Boxes” have been a big hit! Who doesn’t love filling a tackle box fool of candy and snacks to have at the ready with them at all times?!
We host a monthly potluck.
Sunshine group is planning monthly activities for staff including challenges and social events.
Giving staff the gift of time to work in their classrooms and visit with each other.
Low-risk community-building activities to model the importance of relationships within our team and especially for our students.
Restorative Circles with Staff – creating trust and vulnerability to do the hard work!
Had the staff make AI action figures of themselves that we are putting up in the mailroom.
I am writing a daily inspirational quote on the white board in the staff lounge and alternating weeks with a simple activity – the first one was the first week: Write your summer highlight – we had a FILLED board and it was a great way to “SEE” each other’s triumphs.
