School leaders make decisions every day that carry legal, contractual, and professional implications. MASSP supports members by helping them navigate those situations with timely guidance, practical resources, and access to trusted legal support.

Whether you are reviewing your administrator contract, responding to a complex student issue, preparing your handbook and annual notifications, or looking for guidance on a legal topic impacting school leadership, MASSP provides resources designed specifically for Michigan secondary administrators.

This section brings together the legal-related benefits, tools, and supports available to MASSP members.

How MASSP Supports Members

MASSP’s legal services and support are designed to help members feel informed, prepared, and protected in their leadership roles. Support may include consultation with MASSP staff, access to legal assistance based on membership eligibility, guidance on administrator contracts, legal articles and updates from attorney partners, and member-only resources that can help school leaders respond to common legal and compliance questions.

MASSP does not replace your district’s legal counsel and does not provide legal advice for personal matters. Instead, our role is to help members understand available resources, connect with appropriate support, and access tools created for the unique responsibilities of school administrators.
