In a celebration of leadership, dedication and innovation, MASSP has announced the recipients of the 2025-26 Administrator of the Year awards. This year’s honorees include remarkable principals and assistant principals whose commitment to their schools and communities has left an indelible mark.

Adam Lancto, Grandville High School Principal

Grandville High School erupted in celebration as Principal Adam Lancto returned from a meeting to be greeted by students, staff and MASSP representatives announcing his selection as Michigan’s 2025-26 High School Principal of the Year.
“Adam’s commitment to collaborative leadership, innovation and personalized student support is truly inspiring,” said Wendy Zdeb, MASSP Executive Director.
Lancto’s tenure at Grandville has been defined by fostering a culture of inclusion and academic excellence. Senior Sam Hungerford shared how Lancto’s empathy and dedication helped him through personal challenges.
“Adam leads with a servant’s heart, always putting the needs of others first,” said Assistant Principal Matthew Cook.
Ingrid Dettman, Corunna Middle School Principal

Corunna Middle School Principal Ingrid Dettman was greeted with cheers as she entered a packed gymnasium to learn she had been named Michigan’s 2025-26 Middle School Principal of the Year.
“Ingrid Dettman embodies the qualities of an exceptional leader — visionary, compassionate, and deeply committed to her students and staff,” Zdeb remarked.
Dettman’s leadership at CMS spans 22 years, with initiatives in social-emotional learning, safety planning, and inclusivity. Her commitment to fostering a nurturing environment was praised by parents and staff alike.
“Mrs. Dettman has gone above and beyond time and time again to ensure that my son is taken care of physically, academically and emotionally,” said CMS parent Jill Mack.
Chris Moore, Pioneer Middle School Assistant Principal

During a surprise celebration at a Plymouth-Canton Community Schools board meeting, Christopher Moore, Assistant Principal at Pioneer Middle School, was honored as the 2025 Michigan Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year.
“Chris exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding Assistant Principal through his unwavering support for staff, active presence at school events, and steadfast encouragement of students,” Zdeb said.
Moore’s 26-year career, including 12 years as an administrator, has been characterized by his ability to foster positive relationships and create a supportive school culture.
“Students appreciate his humor and his kindhearted approach. Staff trust him and feel empowered,” said Philip Freeman, retired Superintendent.
Susie Aisner, West Bloomfield High School Assistant Principal

The auditorium at West Bloomfield High School filled with applause as Assistant Principal Susie Aisner was named Michigan’s 2025 High School Assistant Principal of the Year.
“Susie Aisner is a shining example of what it means to lead with vision, empathy and determination,” said Zdeb.
Aisner’s contributions include spearheading advisory programs, auditing grading systems, and promoting equity and social-emotional learning.
“She brings warmth, empathy and a collaborative spirit that makes everyone feel valued,” said Sonja James, WBSD Executive Director of Educational Equity and Inclusion.
These outstanding administrators exemplify the values of leadership and dedication that drive Michigan’s educational success. MASSP congratulates each honoree for their achievements and the positive impact they continue to have on their school communities. All four individuals will represent Michigan in their respective award categories for NASSP’s National Award program.
